The 2025 GMC Sierra 1500 is perfect if you require a full-size light-duty pickup truck for the job site, hauling supplies, or off-road adventures. This highly capable, dependable, and versatile pickup truck offers several powertrains, cab and cargo bed configurations, and a spacious, luxurious interior that will appeal to you. Although GMC hasn’t released all the details on the 2025 Sierra 1500, it appears that this truck will have many of the same features and amenities as its predecessor.

GMC Sierra 1500 Trim Levels

The GMC Sierra 1500 is available in eight options, offering additional features and luxury elements in higher trims. Depending on the trim, this pickup truck is available in various configurations, including a regular cab with a standard or long bed, a double cab with a standard bed, or a crew cab with a short or standard cargo bed.

All GMC vehicles, including the Sierra 1500, come with an excellent powertrain warranty to help extend their life span. Depending on the trim, this pickup truck comes standard with rear-wheel or four-wheel drive, which is optional for all rear-wheel-drive trims.

GMC Sierra 1500 Pro

This is the base trim of the lineup and features 17-inch steel wheels, vinyl floor coverings, cloth or vinyl upholstery, and a 7-inch touch screen as part of GMC’s infotainment system. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration comes standard on all trims, while Pro Chrome bumpers enhance the Pro trim’s appearance. This vehicle is powered by a 2.7-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 310 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque.

You can also get the optional 5.3-liter V-8 engine that delivers 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. Both these engines are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

GMC Sierra 1500 SLE

As you move up to the SLE trim, you gain GMC’s MultiPro tailgate with multiple configurations. In addition, this trim comes with an automatic locking rear differential to help navigate over challenging terrain. Other notable features that build on the Pro trim include a 13.4-inch touch screen, heated front seats, heated mirrors, and multiple USB charging ports. This trim comes with the 5.3-liter V-8 engine or the optional 3.0-liter turbocharged six-cylinder Duramax diesel engine with an output of 305 horsepower and 495 lb-ft of torque. All trims above the Pro and SLE come with a 10-speed automatic transmission.

When properly equipped, any trim with the Duramax diesel engine can tow up to 13,300 pounds.

GMC Sierra 1500 Elevation

The Elevation trim features 20-inch aluminum wheels and a Bose premium sound system. Optional features include leather front seat trim, front floor liners with carpet inserts, and storage under the rear seats. For the Elevation trim, you can opt for a 2.7-liter engine, a 5.3-liter V-8 engine, or a 3.0-liter diesel version.

GMC Sierra 1500 SLT

The SLT trim offers enhanced power and luxurious features, including leather upholstery, power-adjustable front seats with driver’s seat memory settings, and heated and power-folding exterior mirrors. You have three engine options for the SLT: the standard 5.3-liter V-8, the optional 6.2-liter V-8 delivering 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque, or the 3.0-liter diesel engine.

The four lower trims of the Sierra 1500 have two rows of seats that can fit up to six people comfortably. The Elevation and SLT can come with two front bucket seats that can fit up to five people.

GMC Sierra 1500 AT4

The AT4 trim will appeal to you if you’re an off-road enthusiast, with features such as standard four-wheel drive, a two-speed transfer case, recovery hooks, and protective skid plates. This powerful trim comes standard with the 3.0-liter Duramax diesel engine or the available 6.2-liter V-8. Additional features include heated outboard rear seats, a wireless charging pad, and power-retractable assist steps.

GMC Sierra 1500 AT4X

The AT4X offers additional off-road and luxury features such as electronic front and rear locking differentials, adaptive dampers, stamped skid plates from American Expedition Vehicles, and trailer tire pressure and temperature sensors. The AT4X’s interior features a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a bed-view camera, and all-weather floor liners.

GMC Sierra 1500 Denali

The Denali trim combines luxury and capability. Building on its predecessors, this sophisticated trim gets heated, ventilated front seats, heated second-row seats, and a sunroof and power side steps with the optional Denali Reserve Package. Other notable features include a two-speed transfer case with the four-wheel-drive system, a spray-in bedliner, and an adaptive suspension system for a smooth, quiet ride. This trim has the 5.3-liter V-8 engine with the option to choose the 3.0-liter diesel engine for increased towing power. It also comes standard with the Sierra 1500 trailering package.

GMC Sierra 1500 Denali Ultimate

The top-of-the-range Denali Ultimate features 22-inch wheels and a carbon-fiber composite cargo bed. Its interior includes supple leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats with a massage feature, and open-pore wood accents. This trim also features an advanced infotainment system with built-in Google software, a 12-speaker premium Bose audio system, and the available Super Cruise  hands-free driver-assistance technology. The 6.2-liter V-8 engine comes standard, or you can choose the optional 3.0-liter Duramax diesel engine for more power.
