GMC is the all-American choice for rugged vehicles, with pickups, SUVs, and crossovers that command the roads. GMC models have gone from strength to strength in recent years thanks to innovative changes in their powertrains, safety tech, and interiors. 2025 brings an impressive lineup of new models and redesigned GMC vehicles that must be seen and experienced. In this article, our team at Meadowland GMC in Carmel, New York, introduces you to the 2025 GMC lineup, exploring the best-in-class models that’ll dominate 2025.

2025 GMC Terrain

The 2025 GMC Terrain is a bold and bossy SUV. It boasts a truck-like wide front grille with chrome accenting and a chunky profile similar to the Chevrolet Equinox. The Terrain also has an all-new powertrain, featuring a turbocharged 1.5L I-4 gas engine with a nine-speed automatic transmission that undoubtedly eclipses the 2024 model for power and performance.

Despite its boxier proportions, the Terrain still boasts great handling with front-wheel drive, all-wheel drive, and off-road driving modes. We expect a similar uplift in the interior space, ergonomics, and on-board tech, with GMC teasing a larger digital display and screen. So far, we know a rugged off-road-ready trim is available, and the SLE base trim is set for a return.

2025 GMC Yukon

The Yukon has always been a larger-than-life SUV. In 2025, you can expect this giant of a vehicle to keep turning heads with its massive grille, refreshed main lamps, and supplementary LEDs. Whether you’re driving through the Hudson Valley or loading up for a weekend at Lake Gleneida, the 2025 Yukon offers the space and comfort Carmel families need. As far as we know, its formidable engine options remain unchanged from 2024, with the option of either 5.3L V-8 or 6.2L V-8 naturally aspirated gasoline engine or a 3.0L I-6 diesel.

The 2025 Yukon hasn’t strayed far from what works with tweaks to the exterior and detailing that are in keeping with its premium status. The 2025 Yukon comes with opulent seating for up to eight passengers, a return of its opulent hand-stitched seating, and a best-in-class cargo capacity of up to 145 cubic feet with all the seating stowed in its super-size XL model. Safety tech continues to be subscription-based across all trims: the SLE, SLT, AT4, Denali, or Denali Ultimate.

2025 GMC Sierra

The GMC Sierra is a legendary pickup, and the 2025 model builds on the strengths of this capable truck, which is built on GM’s successful T1 platform. The 2025 Sierra is more of a refresh than a new design, which isn’t expected until 2026, but plenty of strengths make it a worthwhile buy. GMC has already teased an all-electric lineup of this popular pickup with the release of its Sierra EV Denali Edition 1 in 2024; further electric models are likely.

The gasoline models will boast an upgraded powertrain, tweaking the formidable turbocharged 2.7L four-cylinder engine to deliver 310 hp and 430 lb-ft of torque in the base model. The base price is likely to increase, but GMC’s Sierra 1500 SLE has some thoughtful details, such as a light but strong cargo bed lining, a foldable inner gate, and a generous full-width step. Innovative technologies such as GM’s Super Cruise should also be back. You can expect 20-inch wheels and a mighty towing capacity of 17,300 pounds max.

2025 GMC Acadia

This family-friendly third-generation SUV will not have a significant redesign for its second model year. It’ll retain its GM C1 platform and turbocharged 2.5L I-4 LK0 engine, but it’ll have several upgrades across its three trim levels. Smart design touches such as twin-clutch all-wheel drive as standard and a skid plate make the Acadia off-road ready, and GMC encourages you to walk on the wild side with neat wheel arch lights that you can switch on in sync with the main headlights.

For 2025, this crossover will only be available as a seven-seater vehicle with luxurious bucket seats, folding captain’s chairs, and bench seating in a 2-2-3 configuration. Look out for enhanced interior space and an expansive driver information center with a 15-inch infotainment screen.

2025 GMC Canyon

This tidy midsize pickup is back in 2025, with the start of regular production due to commence in late 2024. The 2024 model was subject to a brief stop-sale order due to software issues, but these have been resolved, and there’s no suggestion that the Canyon will be discontinued. GMC completely overhauled this model in 2023, increasing its footprint and redesigning its cabin. We expect no major changes to the Canyon’s impressive powertrain.

Its turbocharged 2.7-liter I-4 engine delivers 310 hp and over 430 lb-ft of torque, allowing the Canyon to tow up to 7,700 pounds. This smaller truck’s easy off-road handling is assured with a nimble all-wheel-drive trim that sports hardwearing steel underbody skid plates and steel front and rear bumpers. The Canyon’s comfortable five-seater interior is well integrated with its Google-based (but Apple-compatible) infotainment system and an 11.3-inch touch-screen display.
